Custom Through-Conduit Knife Gate Valve

2in~48in; PN0~PN20 (Class125~150)
Home / Knife Gate Valve / Custom Through-Conduit Knife Gate Valve

Product Advantages

iconPush-Through Bottom Discharge: Unlike standard designs, the through-conduit structure features an open bottom.During closure, the blade actively pushes highly concentrated solids out of the valve bottom, which effectively minimizes sediment buildup and prevents gate jamming.

iconBolted Split-Body Structure: The valve utilizes a two-piece bolted body design. This structural layout allows engineers to open the valve body on-site to inspect or replace internal heavy-duty elastomer seats, extending the overall service life without replacing the entire unit.

iconBeveled Shear-Action Gate: The bottom edge of the stainless steel gate (SS316/Duplex) is machined with a beveled cutting edge, which helps shear through trapped fibers, wood pulp, and slurry particulates during the downward stroke

Engineered for Severe Service: Capabilities & Limitations

The Through-Conduit (Push-Through) design features a split-body and an extended bottom. This allows the blade to push solid impurities out of the valve bottom during closure, preventing jamming completely. It is the ultimate "Heavy-Duty Slurry Specialist".

Mining & Mineral Processing

Primary Application: Transporting tailings, concentrate slurries, and coal wash water. The sharp blade cuts through rocks and solids, while the bottom-discharge design absolutely prevents sediment buildup that causes standard valves to jam.

Power Generation

Application: Ash handling systems (bottom ash, fly ash discharge) and FGD (Flue Gas Desulfurization) limestone slurry pipelines in coal-fired power plants. Built to withstand continuous severe abrasion.

Pulp & Paper Industry

Application: Transporting high-consistency wood pulp and recycled waste paper stock that contains staples, plastics, and debris. The push-through gate effectively shears and expels unwanted solid impurities.

Alumina & Chemical

Application: Excellent for red mud (highly abrasive) and chemical slurries containing crystallizations or high corrosiveness, utilizing customizable replaceable heavy-duty rubber sleeves.

Wastewater & Water Treatment

Application: Interception of raw sewage containing heavy sludge, grit, and gravel. The valve ensures bi-directional zero leakage even when intercepting large amounts of sediment.

Application Exclusions (Where NOT to use)

High Temperature & Pressure

Not suitable for main steam lines in power plants or high-pressure petrochem lines. The soft elastomer seals (PU/Rubber) typically cannot exceed 150°C-200°C, and the thin blade design is limited to PN10/PN16 ratings.

Sanitary / High-Purity Fluids

Not suitable for food, beverage, pharma, or semiconductor applications. Heavy-duty slurry valves inherently contain cavities that can trap media, breed bacteria, and do not meet Sanitary/FDA hygiene requirements.

Lethal, Toxic or Flammable Gases

Not suitable for dangerous chemical gases due to potential fugitive emissions at the packing gland. For "absolute zero leakage" requirements in dangerous media, Bellows Seal Valves or High-Performance Ball Valves must be used.

Through-Conduit Knife Gate Valve: Technical FAQs

Why choose JRVAL as your Through-Conduit Knife Gate Valve manufacturer?

JRVAL is the ISO9001 & CE Certified source factory for heavy-duty industrial valves.
  • Verified by the Market: The reliability and structural rationality of our products have been rigorously verified by market data and global installations for 20 years.
  • Fully Integrated Production: We seamlessly integrate casting, precision machining, and assembly within our own facilities to ensure complete quality control.
  • Direct Supply: Sourcing directly from us eliminates middlemen, providing factory-direct pricing for international engineering projects.

How does this valve solve the issue of gate jamming in slurry applications?

Standard valves have a bottom groove where sediment accumulates, preventing the gate from fully closing. A Through-Conduit Knife Gate Valve eliminates this problem by using a push-through bottom discharge structure. When the beveled gate descends, it acts as a shear, actively pushing high-concentration solids and debris out of the open valve bottom.

What specific industries and abrasive media is the Through-Conduit Valve designed for?

This valve is purpose-built for heavy industries handling dense, abrasive, or fibrous fluids:
  • Mining & Mineral Processing: Coal wash water, tailings, and concentrate slurries.
  • Power Generation: Bottom ash, fly ash handling, and FGD limestone slurry.
  • Pulp & Paper: High-consistency paper stock, reject pulp containing staples or plastics.
  • Alumina & Chemical: Highly abrasive red mud and crystallized chemical media.

How does the split-body design benefit pipeline maintenance?

The two-piece bolted split-body structure significantly simplifies MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations). Instead of replacing the entire valve when the internal seal wears out due to abrasive slurries, engineers can unbolt the body on-site to inspect or replace the internal heavy-duty elastomer seats (such as PU or Natural Rubber sleeves). This drastically reduces plant downtime and operational costs.
